TagTom Rachman

Tom Rachman is a British-Canadian author and journalist, born in London in 1974. He gained international recognition with his debut novel, “The Imperfectionists,” published in 2010. The novel, which is set in the offices of an English-language newspaper in Rome, was praised for its insightful portrayal of the lives and struggles of journalists. Rachman studied cinema at the University of Toronto and later attended Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. He worked as a journalist for the Associated Press and the International Herald Tribune, experiences that deeply informed his writing. Rachman’s subsequent novels, including “The Rise & Fall of Great Powers” and “The Italian Teacher,” continue to showcase his keen eye for character and narrative complexity. His work is celebrated for its wit, empathy, and intricate storytelling.
