Sue Monk Kidd, born on August 12, 1948, in Sylvester, Georgia, is an American author known for her novel “The Secret Life of Bees.” Before pursuing a career in writing, Kidd worked as a nurse and later as a university nursing instructor. “The Secret Life of Bees,” published in 2001, became a bestseller and was adapted into a successful film.
