Stephen King is an American author born on September 21, 1947, in Portland, Maine. He is one of the most prolific and popular writers of horror, supernatural fiction, suspense, and fantasy genres. King’s career began with the publication of his first novel, “Carrie,” in 1974, which was later adapted into a successful film. He has since published over 60 novels, including classics such as “The Shining,” “Misery,” and “It,” many of which have been adapted into films, TV series, and miniseries. King is known for his vivid imagination, compelling storytelling, and ability to create deeply human characters. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Bram Stoker Award, World Fantasy Award, and National Medal of Arts.
