Kingsley Amis is a British author best known for his satirical novels and poetry. His most famous work, Lucky Jim, follows the misadventures of a young university lecturer in post-war England. Amis was also a literary critic and essayist, and was awarded the Booker Prize for his novel The Old Devils in 1986.
