David Nicholls is a British author and screenwriter, born on November 30, 1966, in Hampshire, England. He gained widespread recognition with his novel “One Day,” published in 2009, which became a bestseller and was adapted into a successful film in 2011. Nicholls studied English Literature and Drama at the University of Bristol and trained as an actor before transitioning to writing. His other notable works include “Starter for Ten” and “Us,” the latter of which was longlisted for the Booker Prize in 2014. Nicholls is also an accomplished screenwriter, having adapted several of his own novels for film and television, as well as writing for acclaimed TV series such as “Cold Feet” and “Patrick Melrose.” His writing is celebrated for its wit, emotional depth, and keen observations of relationships and human nature.
